The Cambridge Cambourne 10K now in its
fourth year appeals to runners of all levels: from
new runners to the more experienced. The
distance is long enough to be challenging, but
short enough to be accessible to anyone with the
determination to put in a bit of training.
Its sister event, the Cambridge Cambourne Fun Run, is ideal for younger runners or those not ready for the longer distance.
Lovely rural course
The course is mainly on the Wildlife Trust's Cambourne Nature Reserve and passes through wooded areas and alongside lakes. It is almost entirely off road and traffic-free, on proper footpaths better for your legs than tarmac. The finish must be one of the most inspiring in the country.
An opportunity for sightseeing too
Competitors from outside the local area can take this opportunity to have a first-class run in great scenery in the morning and take time out to visit the beautiful, historic City of Cambridge in the afternoon. |
Official charity for 2012 ![]() Red Balloon is a highly successful initiative, begun in Cambridge but operating more widely too, providing 'intensive care' full-time education for children aged between 11 and 16 who are unable to attend conventional school because their lives have been damaged by severe bullying. |

Strong community involvement
We hope the race will be exciting for the whole community and be a pleasure for all concerned, both runners and helpers. We also hope that youll make this one of the highlights in your calendar and come back year after year. Many local community groups and businesses are supporting the event as marshals, staffing the drinks stations or through sponsorship, as well as taking part.
